he MTEA 2010 membership drive
is currently underway
!

Our initial MTEA Membership Drive was an outstanding success, with 25 schools and conservatories from around the world joining MTEA, in addition to a distinguished group of Individual Members. However, many Organizational members need to renew their membership for 2010 in order to remain in good standing and attend attend future conferences at the Organizational Member rate.

The category of Organizational membership is available to schools and organizations that offer degree programs in musical theatre. Upon payment of annual dues of $200, an organization is entitled to two votes in every election by the general membership. Organizational members will be entitled to a $100 discount on conference and workshop fees for any representatives of their institution. (For instance, the $200 conference fee will be reduced to $100 for organizational members.) Organizational members will be listed on the MTEA website, with a link to the website of their organization. Organizational members may use the MTEA logo on their school website and other recruiting materials.

Individual membership shall be granted to an individual upon payment of annual dues of $100. Each member shall have one vote in every election by the general membership. Individual members will be entitled to a discounted rate for conference fees. Individual members may choose to be listed on the MTEA website.

The Executive Committee can award honorary membership to those individuals considered to have made a uniquely valuable contribution to the field of professional musical theatre training. Honorary members shall not pay dues or conference fees. Honorary members shall each have one vote in every election by the general membership.

As per the MTEA by-laws, membership is renewed on a CALENDAR YEAR basis. All payments received from organizations in arrears will be counted toward the 2010 Calendar year, and an annual renewal will be due after January 1, 2011.

To pay your membership fee for 2010, send a check in the appropriate amount, made payable to "Musical Theater Educators Alliance Inc." to MTEA Past-President Charles Gilbert, 1818 S. 12th St., Philadelphia PA 19148. If your school requires an invoice for payment, download it here. Once your membership fee has been paid, you will be contacted about information for the MTEA website.
